Craigslist is great. You can find really good deals. I have used Craigslist for years as both buyers and sellers.
But you have to admit, Craigslist has become annoyingly spammy and "phishy". Legitimate posts get drowned out by unwanted ads and phishing posts.
It creates a lot of problems for both the buyers and owners. Buyers can't find the item. And owners can't sell the item.
Before Craigslist became this way, you can sell your items in just a few days. Now it took at least 1 to 3 months to sell something or even at all.
It wastes time for the owners to keep relisting. It wastes time for buyers to sift through countless ad posts. This creates no value for anyone. It is such a shame.
The idea is to build a web and mobile application that allows you to search Craigslist and get spam-filtered results.
The app will take your search terms and query Craiglist for the result. But before it displays it to you, it will run through a spam-filter much like the ones for emails.
This way instead of seeing hundreds of posts, you will only see maybe 10. These are the ones you want to see. Finding good deals will be easier again.
